Suniel Shetty on ‘Hera Peri 3′, films, finances: ’33 years and 125 films later, I don’t have it all figured out’

The third installment of Hera Peri, one of the most awaited films, has been in the works for some time now. It stars Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty in lead roles. Sharing his insights on the same, Shetty took to social media to share why the film started shooting. The actor also talked about how the film is financed, produced and distributed and how it makes money.

Sharing a post on LinkedIn, Shetty wrote, “So Hera Pheri 3 is finally happening! Looking forward to being back on set with Pareshji and Akki. Like all good things, this one took some time, but it's a relief to finally have an answer to that question!”

“Movies are such a huge part of our culture, and yet few people understand what goes into making a movie. Beyond the creative challenges, the business model and needs of the film business are just as challenging as any other. There are several factors for the success of any business – a good idea, thorough market research, a solid business plan, a qualified team, funding at the right time and a strong distribution network,” he continued.

He also said that the film business is not much different, adding that explaining the entire film business would be oversimplifying it. He explained how film financing is usually provided by studios or production houses that invest their own capital, and that their teams assess the viability of a project before deciding on a budget.

The actor also wrote about startups, how to distribute movies, box office collections, music rights and more. He ended his post saying, “33 years and 125 films later, I don't have it all figured out, but I'll keep getting better at it. Kumar had earlier stated that he would not be a part of Hera Peri 3 due to creative differences.
